Floating Stair Treads | Solid Wood & Butcher Block

Solid hardwood floating stair treads, built to order in white oak, red oak, walnut, maple and hickory. Choose 3", 3-1/2" or 4" thick butcher block, engineered solid plank, or laminate, in lengths from 36" to 60" and depths from 11-1/2" to 12". Custom sizes are available on request.

Floating treads, sometimes called open riser treads, mount to a concealed steel stringer or wall bracket so each step appears to float with no visible riser. Most staircases take 12 to 16 treads. We recommend ordering the full run at once in a single species and thickness so grain and color stay consistent across the staircase.
