Love this attic ladder, but we need to know if it can also be operated manually. We won't be able to get power to the unit for a month or so after it's installed and we would like to be able to use it until the power gets installed. (does it have pull-downs for a pole?)

Yes, this ladder can be operated manually. Please review the installation guide under the documents tab for details.

My opening is 30.5 X 54.5, which would be the better choice? I could hypothetically make the opening longer.

If you are able to make the opening larger, the RR3060 would be the better choice.

What is the step width?

On the 22.5" wide model, the treads are 10" wide. On the 30" wide model, the treads are 14" wide.
