The Blacksmith series spiral stairways take the quality and design of our other standard spiral stairs and combines it with the more traditional look of forged iron balusters. The combination can be the perfect complement to a more traditional or Victorian style home. Choose from one of three standard wood species for your treads. In addition to the special iron balusters and wood tread covers, you can choose unique tread designs exclusively for this line, and iron castings that accept each baluster into the tread. This truly sets the stairs apart from the other models. Finally, we recommend a three-inch-tall bead-and-finger-groove handrail to complete the look of the stairs to match your wood treads. When it comes to the forged iron spiral stair options, we offer a number of different styles for you to pick from which can be mixed and matched to create your own custom pattern.

Finish:

A standard black primer finish is included in the cost of the traditional spiral staircase kit. A very high quality primer is used that will prepare the stair for paint to be applied once it is installed. In some instances customers who do not plan on using the stair very often or it is installed in a place where it is not seen actually leave the primer as the only paint coat due to its high quality. We often hear that people think the primer coat is all they need once they see it and depending upon where and how often it is used.

• Hidden weld and hardware design visually maintains sharp, crisp lines for an overall finished look.
• Enclosed tread ends - stiffens the stair and helps to hide assembly hardware
• Ornate forged iron balusters with press-formed tips - pre-set to the exact angle of the stair for a smooth connection to the handrail
• Baluster pockets - which allow the baluster to mount inside the tread corner
• Continuous sleeve treads give the center column a smooth and uniform appearance (an exact floor to floor measurement is required)
